Let's start with the mineral family, Carnelian is a cryptocrystalline quartz mineral, a member of the chalcedony family, usually red, brown, pink and orange. It has also been referred to as "bloodstone", it has a very high iron content. The name Carnelian is latin and means flesh, it has been used throughout history for a variety of reasons. Most popularly to help timid public speakers become more bold and eloquent, by warriors to support courage and physical power.
